Teen Counselling in North Vancouver

Adolescence brings unique challenges. I expect various kinds of anxiety, self-esteem issues, environmental & political angst, unspoken trauma, cyber trolling, and intense social comparison. Counselling provides teenagers with a safe, confidential space and relationship to talk about what matters most to them.

School pressure, friendships, and a evolving identity can be overwhelming—counselling helps teens build coping skills and confidence through a private and welcoming relational environment.

Supporting Youth Through Change and Stress

Do you wonder where to start (again) with your teenager? Are you wondering how you got so distant from each other? Counselling is a great place to adjust your expectations, deepen your self-confidence and build a bridge back to your teenager. I partner with parents to support their consistent, loving and regulated care at home, in the day-to-day struggles of parenting.

If I’m lucky enough to also see your teenager, this partnership with me will maintain appropriate privacy for your teenager.  Ask me how that works.

Working with Parents and Caregivers

My Experience and Training for Working with your Teenager

Working with teenagers has been a lifelong pursuit. Along with raising four of my own teens, my undergraduate degree involved a major in adolescent development and youth work. As well, my work experience over 20 years, encompasses local youth drop-in centres, emergency counselling, and behaviour support worker in local high schools. Finally, my Master’s Degree thesis was focused on the critical integration between teens and parents in a therapeutic setting.
